Event Details

The COPD Community Workshop is sponsored by the COPD Foundation and hosted by the Seton Healthcare Family in Austin Texas. This one day conference is for people with COPD, their families, friends and caregivers as well as healthcare providers that work with people that have this chronic lung disease. This program will provide a day of education and socialization with physicians, and other medical professionals speaking on the latest information on COPD management and research.

Exhibitors will be available to provide information on community resources. Those that wear supplemental oxygen should bring enough for a six hour program. If backup oxygen is required, patients must bring a copy of their prescription and indicate the need during registration. Volunteers will be available to assist those that need it.

The cost of registration includes valet parking, continental breakfast, and a buffet lunch.

Nurses and respiratory therapists will receive 4 contact hours for continuing education if they attend the full program.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The Seton Family of Hospitals Administration Offices is located at 1345 Philomena St. just south of Seton's Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas (east of I-35 and between 51st St. and Airport Blvd). A printable map is available at the following link:

Valet parking will be available in front of the Seton Administrative Offices on Philomena St.

 

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring any medications that you will need during the day. A room will be set up for those that need to use their nebulizer or that would prefer to go to a private location to take their medications.

Bring enough oxygen for the six hour event if wearing supplemental oxygen. Volunteers can assist with carrying or transporting any supplies needed.
